17.04.2019, Tbilisi – Georgian Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani held a meeting with his Cypriot counterpart, Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Christodoulides who arrived in Georgia within the framework of President of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades’s visit to Georgia.
At a joint press conference following the meeting with David Zalkaliani, the Foreign Minister of Cyprus highlighted Georgia’s achievements on the EU integration path. According to him, Cyprus is Georgia’s firm supporter in this direction. “2019 marks the tenth anniversary of the successful launch of Eastern Partnership. We have the opportunity not only to celebrate this anniversary date but also to discuss the ways to further strengthen these relations. I’d like to stress with confidence that Georgia is a leader and its efforts need to be not only recognized but also rewarded” - Nikos
Highlighting the importance of the Cypriot President’s visit to Georgia he said that “being a significant step in the relations between the two countries, this visit clearly points to the remarkable level of relations between Georgia and Cyprus.

Christodoulides reaffirmed his support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
