Georgian soprano Natia Bezhashvili is the winner of the Cyprus International Vocal Competition. The competition was organised by the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra, its Artistic Director Myron Michailidis, and distinguished baritone Kyros Patsalides.
The Embassy of Georgia was presented with a certificate in recognition of Georgia’s participation as Guest of Honour at the 19th International Mediterranean Folklore Festival. Eighteen years have passed since the full-scale military aggression launched by the Russian Federation against Georgia. In August 2008, disregarding the fundamental norms and principles of international law, Russia carried out the illegal occupation of Abkhazia and the Tskhinvali region - inalienable parts of Georgia’s territory - and recognised their so-called independence.
