On May 7, 2026, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. Marine Narchemashvili met with the Chairman of the Foreign and European Affairs Committee of the Parliament of the Republic of Cyprus, Harris Georgiades, who also serves as the Chairman of the Cyprus–Georgia Friendship Group.
The parties underscored the friendship and partnership between Georgia and Cyprus, which are rooted in the historical ties between the two countries, and agreed to actively cooperate in advancing bilateral relations.
The importance of interparliamentary contacts and communication was emphasized; the friendly relations established between the Speakers of the two countries’ parliaments, as well as the positive dynamics of high-level meetings, were positively assessed.
The Chairman of the Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee reaffirmed support for Georgia’s European aspirations and emphasized their importance not only for Georgia, but also for the European Union.
